Santa Drop-Off

Obviously the most important part of Christmas, is writing a letter to Santa.  So yesterday, I sat down with Moo and we got down to business.

She dictated, I wrote.....

and then she decided that she was too interested in cutting the paper to make paper chains. May I add, since when did my baby become so clever with scissors? Seriously, I was freaking out - blurting out random "Watch your fingers"...."Are you sure you don't want Mummy to do it?"...."Please be careful"......and she stopped....grabbed my face with her tiny hands and looked me in the eyes. She said very slowly and very careful "Mum - I.can.do.it". Enough said.

So today, while Macie played at Daycare and William didn't know what was going on, Santa came to visit to decorate our house and deliver a very special "someone" for our darling children.

He placed a wreath on the door, put the Christmas tree up, decorated and made the cottage feel very festive.

He left a special present under the tree.....a book explaining all about his special someone....

and I wonder who that special "someone" will be???

And for now....we are off to town to pick up Macie.  I am beyond excitement....and I know that she will be too!

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.....

If I had to choose one of my happiest childhood memories - it is without fail, Christmas.  Each and every year. 

My parents used to create this magical, mystical and amazing Christmas for my sister and I every single year.  Everything we did was so happy, so fun and most importantly, memorable.

If there is anything I want to do as a parent - it is to create these same memories for my babies.  Obviously Willsy is a little young for all the hype but Macie is sooo excited.  We only have to see Santa in the catalogues and she goes all goo-goo!  It makes my heart warm and fuzzy to see her innocence in full force.

So, this year - I've decided to create what I always talk about.  I'm going to create MAGIC for my children each and every day of Advent.

Instead of just an Advent Calendar from the shops - we've created an Advent Calendar box. 

It will sit proudly in the house with a new activity, gift and note from Santa every single day for Macie and William.....and I've got a good 2 days to get organised before the 1st of December dawns on me.  I'm talking Christmas Craft, Gingerbread Houses, Paper Chains, Candy Cane Treasure Hunts, Santa Sightings.....and yes my husbo is rolling his eyes at me but then reassures me "The kids are so lucky to have you Han!". 

Not only will it create magic.  But it will also force me to step away from the hussle and bussle of life - and enjoy my darling children.

It's starting to feel a bit like Christmas here.....how about you? 

The end product.....a bit of mod podge and a few ripped up magazines and VOILA.  Lots & Lots of Fun. 

Thank God it's Friday

I'm not usually like this....but thank god it's Friday.  After the birthday hype, Macie's body decided to go into shutdown mode with a nasty headcold and my motivation seemed to want nothing more than sleep and no brain power required.  I thought it was Thursday when it was only Wednesday....and to add to that, we had 4 home days in a row.....which Moo likens to a hole in the head.  Don't get me wrong - we love home days, but we also like to mix it up with some playdates, activities and somewhere off the farm.  I am yet to decipher who needs this more....Macie or me - and after my weekly catch-up with friends yesterday....I think it's an equal tie.

iPhone snap from last weeks coffee date - these two have managed to get the coffee shop lady to fall in love with them - consequently allowing them to run amuck while we sloooooowly sip on our coffee.  Yep - we love this lady!

I always try to make home days fun and find myself googling and researching activities for us to get upto.  Thankfully this week didn't require too much brain power thanks to the birthday presents keeping a certain two year old entertained.

Another iPhone snap.  Present of the year!  Such a huge hit that we are offered "Tea" at 5.15am in the morning! 

But I am happy to report that I did manage to muster up a little bit of motivation for some craft.

We are yet to determine who receives the lovely Work of Art by Macie.....we are thinking the person who gave us the biggest, loudest and messiest toy for her birthday!!!

It's another home day today - getting organised before we head away to celebrate my beautiful Grandma's 81st birthday with the family.  A weekend away together before harvest starts and life gets crazy. 

In the meantime, I am off to enjoy another cup of decaf while I toast to "THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!".  Have a great weekend folks. 

My creative burst....

Today, I have managed to do more than just play with Macie and sleep.  Yep - I am happy to report that I climbed a ladder with a hammer in hand, hung special bunting for Macie's room and rearranged just a tad. 

I even got my craft on just a little bit and made Macie a quick hair clip holder.  Seriously - this is the easiest thing to do with a canvas from your Dollar Store, cute ribbons and a hot glue gun.  Admittedly, Moo did have one before however I wanted to revamp it up and use reds and pinks.....so 5 minutes later - here it is! 


I purchased this Canvas from a cheap store for $6.  All you need to do is choose your ribbons and measure to size. 

Glue the ribbons to the inside of the canvas....

And Voila....you have your very own pretty Hair Clip Board for under $10. 

Since Macie is going to share her bedroom with the baby, I am looking for inspiration to make this room gorgeous aswell as give them their own spaces.  In order to do so....I joined Pinterest.

Dalli's Creative Space...

You probably all remember me drooling over some beautiful creative spaces in my post here....unfortunately I will only be visiting these places in my dreams but I decided to get realistic and make the most of the space that we have in the cottage. 

Our beautiful, quaint little cottage is a bit small and I had all intentions on persuading the husbo to let me take over the spare bedroom and rename it the 'Dalli HQ' but have since changed my mind....more on that another day! 

Instead, I decided to rearrange our bedroom (which is HUGE) and have added another large table into the equation so I can sew in the sunshine and gaze out into the wide open spaces and the farm's crop of sorghum.  

So here it is.....just a little collage of my very modest creative space....
