Grateful for....

This week, my beautiful husbo and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary.  Three years married and nine years since we first started dating.....and we are more in love than ever.  Sounds corny I know....but it's true.

I am so utterly grateful to have him in my life.  We cruise through the mundane times, soak up the good times and hit the bad times head on.  We cry together, laugh together and can have an almighty argument - but always kiss, make up and store it into the 'needed that vent' file.  He is my best friend, my soul mate, my other half.

He is the best father I could have asked for.  He has the perfect balance of strict and love - and is proudly the 'Play Man'.  I love the way Moo's eyes light up when she hears the motorbike coming up the driveway or when she waves goodbye to me when Daddy arrives as she wants to go and spend the afternoon with him.  She just simply wants to have him all to herself - something I can completely relate with.

And then there is the patience - with me and my little business venture.  Taking over our ridiculously large bedroom with materials, ironing boards, sewing machines, etc.  Making him sleep on the couch while I want to pull a 'late-nighter' and never once does he complain.  His support is what keeps me going....

When I met this beautiful man all those years ago, I knew that I would spend the rest of my life with him - the stars were aligned and our fate had been spelled out.  Never ever did I dream that I would feel this content and happy with my family, my life and our future.

I am not grateful for him just this week - I am grateful for him every second of every day.  He challenges me, loves me and fills me with life daily.

Here's to another thirty years with my beautiful husbo....and maybe a few more!  x

Grateful for....

My weekend has been nothing short of magical.  I found myself thinking that if everyday was like today, then the world would be a better place....but then again, we have to have some shockers, trials and tribulations to appreciate the golden days.

I am so grateful for so many things this week....

1.  My amazing little business but mostly my beautiful 'likers'.  Dalli had another Market Night on Monday and it was nothing short of a huge success!  Bibs sold within seconds and it was so humbling.  A big thank you for all those who love and support Dalli.  It truly makes the long hours and late nights so worth it when you love the products as much as you do!

The BIG hit of the night - A Touch of Red Bib Set - these sold within 10 seconds of me declaring the album open!

2.  The Dalli Photoshoot - the photos of these gorgeous girls really speak for themselves....

3. My beautiful friends (the Mamas of the beautiful Dalli Cottage models) who are my rocks.  I honestly don't know what I would do without their constant friendship, silly giggles and comparing of notes when it comes to raising a toddler!  I found I loved them even more this week when I watched them trying to make the girls 'model' for me during the shoot!  They ran up the roads (bear in mind that Kath is glowingly pregnant), they tended to each other's children, they kissed grazed knees and they jumped behind me and made special goo-goo-ga-ga sounds to make the kids smile!  They are the kind of friends that have no hesitation to pick your child up and give them a cuddle - and I feel so blessed to have them.  They know I love them....but I just wanted to share....

4.  Making cakes with Moo.....the special Princess Patty-cake kind with really really pink icing and magic sprinkles on the top.  These are the moments that create memories....

and the rest - they say - is history!

Have a great week and try to soak up the little things....it is what makes it all worthwhile!

Grateful for....

This week I am so grateful for my new love of photography.  The way it captures the moment, the lights, the feeling and the warmth.  Here are just a few of my favourites from my week of happy snaps.

This is the view from my lounge room....a part of me wishes I had a loud horn to blow every time they land on our precious crop but the other part makes me sit and watch them in all their beauty.

Fence talk....

Captured on an afternoon farm drive with Moo (who had her cranky pants on).

One of the many things I love about living on a farm....the magnificent sunsets
Miss Moo talking with the birds...

Grateful for....

Firstly, huge apologies for my absence from blogging!  Life has been hectic, Moo has come down with chicken pox, the husbo is busy with the farm and I am just trying to juggle the balancing act.  I made a huge decision this week to not accept anymore custom orders until life settles down....it may be a week, a month or a few months....who knows.

There are so many things I am grateful this week....

My very first market night over at my Dalli Cottage FB!  It was such an amazing response and I will fully loaded when I went off to the PO this week.  Thank you so much to all my beautiful customers.

But the BIG thing I am grateful for this week is the weather.  Autumn would have to be my favourite season of all....the cooler weather, the beautiful breeze, the amazing clouds, the smells....I could go on forever.  All week we have had the windows open instead of the air conditioner, and we have just been loving it.

I especially loved my Autumn Afternoon walk with my darling girl this afternoon....and I am so glad that I managed to capture it.  X

Grateful for....

I am happy to report another magical week at the cottage with my beautiful family...

A rearrange of my creative space and I feel completely renewed....who wouldn't when you are being soaked in sunshine while you create....

My bedside reminder to have "ME" time to read my books and write in my journal.....what do you have on your bedside table?

And of course my two loves....being themselves and making me swoon over them.  I can't imagine life without them...and I especially love it when the husbo is home after it rains....small things in life!

Grateful for....

Each week I find that I am grateful for the same things....my beautiful husbo, delightful little girl and my family & friends.....and licking the beaters clean from chocolate cake!

Never to old to have lick the beaters!

They all bring me so much happiness and enrich my soul.....but what about ME?

I really had to think about what I loved about this week and that was..... 'Me Time' (thanks Mummy Time for reminding me about this!).  I am all about keeping it 'real' and will fully admit that I had a mini-meltdown to my husbo this week and wished for just an hour to read a book, a soak in the bath, or a night on the couch watching my favourite TV shows - instead of the constant demand with the sewing machine, washing machine and general chores!

Life works in mysterious ways because this week I hurt my back and sewing just aggravated it to the point where I was nearly in tears.....so I cut back from my sewing this week and relished in the 'me' time at any given moment.

I read nearly two books, took reign on the remote for all my favourite TV shows (I can't remember the last time I did this as I always sew at nights), had nanny naps while my darling daughter slept and didn't spend half as much time on the computer doing invoices, wholesale orders, FB....etc.

After nearly a week, I woke up this morning and felt liberated - my back felt better, my daughter is happier that Mummy is eager to get down and play with her and I had that skip back in my step.

'Me' time is SO important - especially for all those Mamas out there who have forgotten what to do for THEM.  I know that earlier this week I couldn't remember what I used to do for 'me' time....my darling husbo had to remind me that I love reading - and two books later....I am smiling again!

So this week - take some time out for YOU even when the Mount Wash-Me is growing in your laundry, the house needs cleaning or you have a million orders to do.....

I promise you that you won't regret it.  X

The limits....

I read a fantastic quote this week:

"If you are going to put a limit on something....make the sky the limit"

What a terrific reminder to never let anyone stand in your way of your dreams - and if you work hard and be kind....then good things will happen to you.

This week I am so grateful for all the beautiful, kind people out in the BIG wide world of business.  For my tiny little business to be featured on Style Collective, Fluid Magazine and KID Independent is so surreal for me.  Then to see my beautiful Shabby Chic Aprons available for sale at Little Indigo was enough to celebrate!  How bloody exciting!

I am also grateful for my darling, beautiful daughter to be smiling again after an awful few weeks of teething.  She is back giggling and being cheeky, loud and happy - causing plenty of mayhem and madness around this tiny little cottage!  The bigger the mess - the happier she is....

And finally, I am so grateful for my gorgeous husbo and my family - both near and far.  I love visits to the cottage - my Parental Unit plus gorgeous sister for a day trip from Tbar...my MIL from up the road or my sister-in-law for the weekend.....they all bring so much happiness and love to the cottage!  Summer planting is now over....so I am definitely grateful for being able to spend the weekend snuggling up to my husbo....I have most certainly missed him!
